School

THE RECEPTION OF SCHOOL GROUPS AND GROUPS OF YOUNG PEOPLE IS ONE OF OUR KEY MISSIONS; COSQUER MÉDITERRANÉE WILL BE A PRIME VENUE FOR SCHOOL GROUPS, ENABLING STUDENTS TO DISCOVER, FURTHER THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF, OR LEARN ABOUT PREHISTORY, AND ALSO A PLACE TO LEARN ABOUT THE PHENOMENON OF RISING SEA LEVELS.

Our educational offering is tailored to provide a high-quality tour for school groups and groups of young people. Composed of three parts, the tour takes students on a veritable immersive journey back in time to discover the works of Palaeolithic artists, and also the way in which dives were performed at the end of the last century.

The school groups are welcomed by a receptionist and a cultural mediator. The tour begins with the replica of a 1980s diving club.

They then immediately board the nautical elevator that takes them deep beneath the ‘sea’ for a 35-minute exploration of the cave on board exploratory vehicles with a seating capacity of 6; the school groups are semi-autonomous during the tour.

You will discover all the cave’s treasures and you will be able to see the parietal works close up. After the exploration of the cave, a film screening in the Jean Courtin amphitheatre will enable you to relive the cave’s discovery and the dangers of Henri Cosquer’s exceptional diving expedition.
